Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. The Short, Honest Version

This Service is operated by Vagabond Ventures LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. We collect the minimum amount of data needed to make this app useful. We do not sell it, trade it, or turn it into a personality profile.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

Accounts are optional. Creating one is handled through a third-party sign-in provider (currently Google Sign-In). When you sign in that way, we receive and store a limited profile from the provider:

  • Email address
  • Name or display name
  • Profile picture (the image URL from your provider account)
  • A provider account identifier, so we recognize you on return visits

We never receive or store your provider password. Google's handling of the data shared during sign-in is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Activity and Content

So the app is actually useful, we store what you do with your account:

  • Festivals and set-times you favorite, save, or add to your schedule
  • Events or microevents you create, and any event ownership you claim
  • Camping preferences you set up

Location Information

Location data is used to show festivals near you. Without it, we would just be guessing, and guessing is bad UX.

3. What We Absolutely Do Not Collect

  • Payment or billing information
  • Government-issued IDs
  • Precise location history
  • Tracking of your activity across other websites or apps. The only information we get from a third party is the limited sign-in profile you authorize when you choose to log in with a provider (see section 2).

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide nearby festival recommendations
  • Manage user accounts (if you create one)
  • Save and sync your favorites, saved items, and personal schedule across your sessions
  • Display the events and microevents you create or claim ownership of
  • Improve app functionality and performance

5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or somewhere with similarly strong opinions about privacy, here is our legal basis:

  • Your consent (location access)
  • Contractual necessity (account features)
  • Legitimate interest (making the app not terrible)

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to data brokers. Ever.

We do rely on a few service providers to run the app, for example, Google for sign-in (when you choose it) and our hosting and infrastructure providers. They process data only to provide their service to us, not for their own purposes.

Data may be disclosed only if required by law or to protect the Service from fraud, abuse, or security threats. See also section 7 below for how third-party advertising works.

7. Cookies, Local Storage, and Advertising

Essential Local Storage

To keep you signed in and to make the app fast, we store a few things in your browser's local storage: your session and refresh tokens and a local copy of your own collection (favorites, saved items, and schedule). This stays on your device, is not sold or shared, and is cleared when you log out. Because it is required for the app to function, it is not subject to the advertising-consent banner below.

Advertising Cookies

We display ads through Google AdSense to keep this service free. When ads are served, Google may:

  • Set cookies on your device to remember which ads have been shown
  • Use your IP address and approximate location to choose region-relevant ads
  • Personalize ads based on browsing patterns, and in regions like the EU/UK only with your consent through our cookie banner

You can review and adjust Google's use of your data at Google Ad Settings, opt out of personalized ads entirely, or disable cookies in your browser to stop most ad personalization.

AdSense's data practices are governed by Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary to operate the Service or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.

9. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for location access
  • Opt out of personalized advertising (see section 7)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and delete personal data. We honor those too.

When you delete your account, we remove your profile and your personal collection (favorites, saved items, and schedule). Events you created or owned are part of the shared festival catalog, so they are released (disassociated from you) rather than deleted, and microevents you added are archived.

10. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. That said, no system is 100% secure. If one were, hackers would be out of a job.

11. Children's Privacy

This Service is not intended for children under 13. If we discover that data from a child has been collected, it will be deleted promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top so you do not have to guess.

13. International Data Transfers

We operate the Service from the United States and may process and store data there or with infrastructure providers in other countries. Privacy laws vary by country. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to keep it protected consistent with this policy and applicable law (for example, standard contractual clauses where they are required).

14. Third-Party Services We Use

We share the minimum data necessary with a small set of providers that help us run the Service. Today these are:

  • Google: sign-in (when you choose it) and, when enabled, advertising through Google AdSense.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: to store data and serve the app.

Each one processes data only to provide its service to us. We will update this list as our providers change.
